Right-angle couplers used for load-bearing joints have to meet EN74 Class A or B standards. This rating guarantees they can safely support 5kN to 6kN, which is essential for platforms carrying heavy materials and equipment. When you need to extend vertical tubes, always use internal sleeve fasteners. They align better and add far more structural strength than external sleeves, making them worth the small extra effort.

I've worked on tall access towers where swivel fasteners on diagonal braces were game-changing. They lock diagonals at precise angles, cutting down sway and movement, especially in strong winds. After erecting the scaffold and applying its initial load, go back and double-check every connection. Re-torque the bolts and confirm couplers are seated tight.

In heavy-duty scaffolding, reliable fasteners aren't a luxury—they're the backbone of safety. Cutting corners on load ratings, material quality, or pre-use checks puts workers at risk, causes project delays, and leads to failed inspections. When the structure is carrying serious weight, every fastener has to perform.
